Celebrating women in events today and every day.

We want to celebrate women in events today and every day. From the female forces behind our brand to our amazing community. We support building an industry, free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

Representation is important

Public speaking was something I was interested in for a while, and it has always been important to me to see other women on stage, but I didn't have the confidence to get up there myself. However, seeing other women speak about tech at tradeshows, conferences and exhibitions gave me the confidence to try it myself. It has been great for my professional development, and it is a step towards redressing the gender split at events.

Wellbeing, work-life balance

Prioritise your mental wellbeing

You must take charge and recognise the warning signs and self-regulate your own mental and physical health. The same things that make event planning so addictive and fulfilling can also make it dangerous to your health. Running on adrenaline can only work for short periods, otherwise, you will face burnout, depression and other serious consequences.

What is work-life-balance

Work-life balance is an internal state of being when an individual achieves an acceptable compromise between their working and personal life. Working at this optimum level should increase performance and productivity, allowing you to cope better with decisions as they arise with a positive outlook.

Let technology relieve some of the pressure:

  • Automate workflows for manual processes and make sure everything Is Integrated.
    • Try to reduce the monotonous tasks that still rely on human intervention but could easily be automated. Above all else, make sure all your tools work together and avoid any duplication. IFTTT and Zapier are solutions to explore.
  • Take control of your inbox
    • Get into better email habits - reduce the volume you send, banish spam, keep messages short and to the point, move to a team instant communication tool (e.g. Slack), only check email at specific times of day, set up and use template responses where possible and be picky at what you say yes to.
  • Use data to make informed decisions
    • Use data to find the answers for how to improve and make processes smoother. Instill an expectation for continuous improvement and to ensure that your projects are hitting the goals and milestones they need to
