Before Cvent

Pre-1999

There has to be a better way

Reggie Aggarwal, Cvent's future CEO and founder, was working full time as a lawyer while also organizing 50+ events a year for his non-profit.

He was using Excel, Outlook and yellow sticky notes. Talk about tedious! 

1999-2002

1999

Every pain needs an aspirin

Reggie had an idea to streamline the manual processes of event planning and met with future co-founder and CTO David Quattrone

Reggie and Dave wrote Cvent's first business plan on a bar napkin

2000

Off to a fast start

Reggie, and co-founders David Quattrone and Chuck Ghoorah, grew team from 6 to 125 Cventers

​Caught the eye of Forbes, The Washington Post, and USA Today

2001

Dot-com bubble burst

Forced to downsize team from 125 Cventers to 24

Failure was right around the corner, but the team pushed through

2003-2010

Opened first office in India
